Save the Monarch Butterflies!

  • Plant milkweed!
    • The leaves are food for caterpillers.
    • Bees and butterflies love the nectar.
    • Milkweed is pretty and they smell nice.
    • They come back every spring.
  • Don’t plant invasive species!
    • E.g. tiger lillies, butterfly bushes, Japanese spiraea, purple loosestrife
    • Our native insects don't recognize them.
    • Invasive plants will spread uncontrollably.
